5 MEPs visited the Zvërnec area, accompanied by 7 majority and 7 opposition MPs. They were met with protests from several citizens who are against the Zvërnec project.
The visit takes place within the framework of the Albania-EU Stabilization and Association Committee, following the 22nd meeting held the day before in Tirana.
This visit focuses on getting to know the territory and the situation in the area, at a time when attention is focused on the investment and the protest that has been taking place for more than 3 months on the boulevard in front of the prime minister's office.
Also present was Fredi Beleri, who supports any investment that respects property rights and nature.
"My colleagues from all political parties have visited Zvërnec throughout all these times, they have their opinions. They will come out with a statement. I believe that this impasse will be resolved, as it happens all over the world: landowners should be part of development, development should be sustainable and nature should be respected. I am in favor of any investment when it is made with the laws and norms of the rule of law. I am in favor of any investment where property rights, the environment and biodiversity of the area are respected," said Beleri.
