Shpëtim Ajazi, 43, was shot dead after a conflict over a parking space in Belgium. A 19-year-old man, who was injured by the shooting, is in serious condition.

Foreign media have revealed new details about the event.

The 43-year-old Albanian returned home in a van around 19:30.

His 19-year-old cousin, who was visiting the Shpëtimi family, moved Golf 5 to make room for the 43-year-old.

While the two vehicles were parked one behind the other, shots were heard on the street.

"My husband and I first thought of fireworks. Young people often throw them on the street," says a neighbor, interviewed by HLN.

"But after hearing more noise, I went to look out the window. Then I saw our neighbor across the street, we call him "the Italian", with a gun in his hand."

The perpetrator has been identified as Renato F., a 61-year-old plumber, who lives in the house next to Shpëtim.

From the sidewalk, the 61-year-old pointed the gun at the neighbor, who was still in the van, before shooting him in the head. The father of three did not survive. His 19-year-old cousin, who was also in his car, was shot twice, one in the shoulder and one in the neck. The young man continues to fight for his life in the hospital.

His wife and son were threatened

According to some witnesses, after the shooting there was total panic in the neighborhood. The 15-year-old son and wife of Shpeti, who were at home at the time of the shooting, immediately went out into the street.

According to a relative, they were threatened by Renato F.

"He pointed the gun at them as if they were next. There they saw Salvation in his van. They saw him die, it's terrible", testifies Bashkim Ajazi, another cousin of the victim.

After threatening another neighbor who tried to calm him down, Renato F. left in his BMW car. He was arrested a few hours later by the police.

The motive is clear to the investigators. In fact, the two neighbors had been fighting over the parking spot for years.

According to a neighbor, the police have intervened in several cases for this reason.
