The Traffic Police has taken stock of the last 24 hours. According to the Police announcement, 2 people were arrested, one of them Greek, and 202 people were fined. 

The Greek citizen with the initials A.Th tried to bribe the policeman with 20 Euros. 

Due to his suspicious behavior, a personal search was conducted, where 4.87 grams of cannabis were found. After testing, he tested positive for THC and was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Production and sale of narcotics."

In the last 24 hours, the Traffic Police has intensified checks on the streets of the capital, with a focus on preventing the driving of vehicles under the influence of narcotics and attempts at corruption against police officers. ????????

???? During the checks, the Greek citizen, 36-year-old A.Th., was arrested, who was caught using the phone while driving and without wearing a seat belt. During the police procedure, he tried to bribe the police officer by offering him 20 euros to avoid punishment.

Due to his suspicious behavior, he was personally searched, where 4.87 grams of a narcotic substance suspected to be cannabis were found. ???? After testing with the AquilaScan device, he tested positive for THC and was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Production and sale of narcotics." ????⚖️

???? In another case, on 21.10.2024, on the street "Asim Vokshi" at the intersection of "Don Bosko", a citizen SL, 26 years old, resident in Tirana, was arrested. He did not obey the signal of the police officer to stop and continued moving with his vehicle. During the intervention to stop him, SL objected and verbally and physically attacked the policeman. After being escorted to the police station and tested, it was found that he was driving under the influence of amphetamine and cocaine. ???? He was punished with an administrative measure and 12 points were deducted from his license. ????✋

In the context of increased controls and continuous commitment to increase road safety, the Road Police has so far identified 128 cases of drivers who were under the influence of narcotics, who were punished in accordance with the law. Also, 74 cases of active corruption attempts against police officers were registered, for which immediate legal measures were taken against the responsible persons. ⚖️????
