The former Director General of the Police, Shemsi Prençi, has stated that children aged 14-15 in Albania are turning into paid killers.
Prençi made the comments while being invited to the show "Në Shënjester", where he added that they train in the area of what he considered the "Bermuda triangle", which includes cities such as Tirana, Elbasan, Durrës and Lezha.
He said that mainly children who have no income are recruited, turning them into soldiers for criminal organizations.
"In the triangle of Bermuda, Elbasan, Tirana, Durrës and Lezhë, this region that you pass through recruits soldiers, contract killers, train night and day in hidden places, and even recruit children aged 14-15 years. I don't care about the fate of anyone involved in the crime, but it is becoming a trend that children who have no bread are being recruited and turned into contract killers. This plague comes because criminal organizations cannot survive without these young soldiers for paid murders. The police must reformat the organization, " he said.
