A terrifying car accident has been recorded in China, where a mother and her child were thrown from the car they were travelling in when it crashed into a side barrier on the highway.

An in-car camera captured the moment the SUV hit the guardrail and went off the road.

As seen in the video, it all happened when the car driver made a sudden maneuver to avoid a plastic sign on the Nanjing Ring Highway.

According to police, the father and son in the front seats were wearing seat belts and were not injured.

On the other hand, the mother and child in the back seats were not wearing seat belts and were thrown through the rear window, resulting in broken arms.
