The damage to the Shkodra Municipality building during the student protest has brought reactions and clashes among the Democrats themselves.
Democratic councilor of the Municipality of Shkodra, Glorja Shllaku, published footage of the incident, expressing support for the students.
But this action was criticized by lecturer, researcher and former Democratic MP Romeo Gurakuqi.
Through a comment, Gurakuqi reminded Shllaku that the Municipality is a public institution, where important services for citizens are located, and that as a member of the Municipal Council, she should have intervened to prevent damage, instead of publishing footage of the incident.
"It's Gloria Municipality, where you are a council member. It's the city's memory, the civil status, and I don't understand why you're taking it out, instead of running to get the children away from harm," Gurakuqi writes.
"Prof., without wanting to get into controversy, I believe that in these moments we should be in support of students and young people, not hinder them or silence their voices. They are demanding their right to a better future and we must listen to them and support them," she replies.
"Glorja Shllaku, I say something else, you say something completely different!!!!! In the end, you even teach me what I should do?!", Gurakuqi responds on the other hand. ( Vox News )
