What have you done to this team, which manages to lift the hearts of all Albanians?

I want to pay a compliment to all the fans we had in the stadium today, they were amazing. They created an extraordinary environment, helping all of us a lot, so this is a victory for the entire Albanian people. It was very important not to lose and luckily we did it, but we have to continue to be careful, as now we also have Moldova at the back. We knew the history of the opponent, but I think we deserved the victory today.

We struggled a bit at the beginning, but their disallowed goal woke us up...

We were well positioned on the pitch, but we lacked one final pass forward. Then we picked ourselves up well and played a very good game, with a lot of heart and a lot of spirit on the pitch.

Mitaj and Hysaj were almost never seen appearing in the finals. Did they fail or was it your advice?

No, they didn't make it. Both Hysaj and Mitaj did not have the opportunity to go forward, as they were facing very strong players who, if given space, could kill you.

Poland made a high pressing. How would you solve this problem if we hadn't scored a super goal with Asani?

The match is decided in 90 minutes. At first it was not a good moment for us, but we recovered quickly. They put us in trouble, but with some changes, we got more space. They made a high press, but were unclear in the finishing, in the final passes.

A cynical team that wins even when it doesn't create much...

We work a lot on the body part, but behind that is the high quality of the footballers. We have fast, strong players who score like Barjami, Cikalleshi, Uzuni, Muçi, Bajrami, etc., etc. They are players who make very quick transitions and are capable of scoring goals.

"The goal never enters the net by chance", once said the former president of Barcelona...

I know that expression well and after so many years in football, I am fully convinced that it is right. The players willingly enter the field and are all together. We manage the group and they are always ready to give their best, the ball enters these moments that we are all one.

Will it be difficult to find a place for Broja in October?

He is a great footballer and we hope to have him in the team very soon. It is a serious injury, requiring 9 months of recovery. We will go to London to follow him and talk to him. If he will be able, then we have no problem finding a place for him. But we will not rush and we must be careful.

What did you say to the players in the dressing room after the game?

I told them that today is not only their day, but that of all Albanians, we must all win. We have a strong team and we won because we deserved it. But in the end I told them that nothing is finished. It's a tough group and there are still a lot of tough moments. Three more finals await us and we must treat each match with maximum importance.
