The big surprise of the World Cup, debutants stop Spain
Cape Verde makes history, disappoints Spain

Cape Verde has pulled off a big surprise at the World Cup. The debutants held Spain to a goalless draw.

An easy match was expected for the Iberians, who came into this match as absolute favorites, but the field showed the opposite.

The Cape Verde goalkeeper was decisive on several occasions, stopping Oyarzabal and Cucurella. Ferran Torres was also unlucky at the end of the first half, when he was stopped by a crossbar.

Yamal tried to turn the game around in the second half, but failed. In the end, the two teams shared a point each.

Difficult start for Spain in Group H, where they will play their next match against Saudi Arabia.

The "Blue Sharks", as Cape Verde is otherwise known, are participating in the World Cup for the first time and are one of the smallest national teams, with a population of 600,000.
