Italy ended its journey to Euro 2024 at the 1/8 stage with the Azzurri who were defeated by Switzerland with the numbers 2-0.

After the challenge, coach Luciano Spalletti emphasized that he had very little time available to prepare the team for this competition while adding that at this moment, the team could not do anything more as it also suffered from physical freshness.

"Something was missing in the personal aspect of the players, but in these cases the responsibility is always the coach's. Although I did not have much time available to prepare the European. We were under the rhythm and then it becomes difficult, then the second goal cut our knees. Unfortunately pace and freshness always make the difference, we weren't in the condition to do anything more.

The World Cup? A discussion that will take place later requires continuity and sacrifice, in many of us we have not been very continuous", said Spalletti.
