The striker of the Albanian national team, Armando Broja, invited to the show "Champions", revealed the players who are best understood on the field.
Broja also spoke about the two occasions he had against Spain. For the first occasion, the attacker stated that he was surprised how the goalkeeper of Spain received him, whom he called a kangaroo.
"On the field, I get along better with Mario Mitaj, we are very good. We do not speak with our mouths, but with our eyes. The same with Gjimshiti. With Muçi, with Asllan too.
In the first case against Spain, I didn't know where the goalkeeper was. In England, my teammate tells you if I have time to check, but there I didn't hear anything and I shot straight. When Asllani followed me, I thought the goalkeeper had come out, but when I shot and saw that he was there, I had nothing to do.
In the second case, I didn't have much time, it was instinct, just to hit the ball. I know Raya from Arsenal and I was surprised how he received that first opportunity. He caught him like a kangaroo", said Broja.
Broja said that he was a little bored when he learned the formations for the matches against Croatia and Spain. Broja appreciates the two strikers Daku and Manaj and says that the latter was in better shape than him.
Armando Broja: The season I've been through now was very difficult and when the coach called me I didn't know if I would be the main striker or what would happen. To be honest, the other two strikers, Manaj and Daku, have played more than me, and especially Manaj has scored many goals in Turkey and has been in better shape than me. The coach had to get a reason to play and I respect what the coach says. I gave my best when he called me and put me in the game.
We scored the goal very quickly and we were all surprised against Italy that the goal had to come very quickly. We didn't do what we had to do exactly and we had difficulty communicating with the players, the stadium was full of Albanians and we were few, the defense was behind, the attackers in front and maybe the emotions for the first game were there. If I could go back to that match, it would have been different. But now it's over.
Marina Vjollca: Meanwhile, in the second match, of course you expected to play, what did you think when you learned the formation?
Armando Broja: Like any player you have to be a little upset and I was a little upset. I always respect the decisions of the coach and I have to use it when you are upset to make me nervous in a good way that I play better and I showed the coach that I want to enter the field. I know, you didn't put me in with Croatia, we played a very good match with Croatia as a team. When I looked back at the game as it ended, we had a lot of chances to win the game and we had more chances to score goals than we did, but it was a good result because Croatia are not an easy group either. When the result came out 2 to 2 it was nice, but we still wanted more than if we had 3 points, the match against Spain would have been different.
In the Albania-Spain match, Armando Broja entered the field in the 58th minute, replacing Rei Manaj.
Broja reveals the reports with Silvinho and Reja: It made me nervous...
Broja showed his reports, with the current coach, Silvinho, but also with the former coach Edoardo Reja.
Regarding Silvinho, Broja stated that he has a very good relationship and during the time when he was injured, they were always in contact.
"We have always been good with coach Silvinjo. Even when I was injured, he came to England and spoke to me together with Zabaleta. We had good communication and talked the whole time. The coach has done a very good job and has sent Albania to the European Championship. It brought the whole group together. We have all been together. When I joined the group, because I went in November, I was injured again. I met the players exactly in March. The environment was very good. Very good players, coach too. It has done a very good thing."
Broja also gave credit to coach Reja, for whom he declared that he gave him his debut and brought him closer to the first team of Albania. He also emphasized that Reja helped him even when he did not activate him, as he was nervous and wanted to show his qualities.
"The relationship with Reja? As a player, I have had many coaches. With Reja, I can't say anything bad, because it gave me my debut and brought me closer to the National Team. He activated me in several matches. When he didn't let me play, he made me more nervous, not with him, but with myself, because I wanted to show my qualities. There was no conflict.
Against England, I had a problem with my foot. I met the team in England, I trained and I was fine, in the end Reja left me out", Broja declared.
