Milan has an ambitious plan, for which it has made an official request to the highest bodies of Italian football.
The Rossoneri aim to spread their brand as much as possible around the world and have made a request to the Italian Federation, UEFA and FIFA to allow them to play a Serie A match in Australia.
It is the first week of February, when the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics will take place in the city of Milan, at the "San Siro" stadium. On February 7 or 8, the match between Milan and Como is also scheduled to take place at that facility.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Milan has made a special request to hold this match at Perth's "Optus Stadium", with 60,000 seats.
In principle, the Italian Football League agrees, as it seeks to expand the visibility of Italian football as much as possible and Milan is among the most popular clubs on the international scene. It remains to convince the national and international governing bodies, for a move that would be historic, as it would pave the way for other teams to do the same in rare cases.
