Jose Mourinho's return to Real Madrid remains on hold due to the electoral situation at the club, despite the parties having begun preparations for the upcoming transfer window.

The proposed contract for the Portuguese coach, valid for two seasons with an option to renew for a third in the event of being declared champion in La Liga, has been fully drafted but cannot be signed before the re-election of Florentino Perez.

According to Spanish media, Mourinho has submitted a report requesting urgent reinforcements in the defensive wings, two central defenders and two midfielders.

However, the club's strategy foresees that any approach will be conditional on departures, with players such as Camavinga and Ceballos placed on the departure list, while Antonio Rudiger has not yet renewed his contract which expires on June 30.

If the selection process is successful for Perez, Real Madrid will have to pay a compensation higher than the initial estimate of 7 million euros to release the coach. Spanish media report that this figure could go up to 14 million euros.

Everything is expected to be clarified after the presidential elections on June 7, where Perez will face candidate Enrique Riquelme. The latter has expressed open reservations about Mourinho's management style, emphasizing the need for a long-term project, which adds to the suspicions that a victory for Riquelme would definitively cancel the Portuguese's return to Madrid.
