The 2030 World Cup will be hosted by two European countries and one African country. The competition was won by Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
However, FIFA has decided to reward the other three countries that were in the competition, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina, which will welcome the first three opening matches.
This means that teams from 48 countries of the world will play matches for the first time in 3 continents and 6 countries.
England, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales will host Euro 2028 if UEFA approves the bid next week.
The United Kingdom and Ireland will host Euro 2028 after Turkey's withdrawal.
The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of the FIFA council this Wednesday, and will have to be confirmed in a vote taken by all 211 FIFA members, an event likely to take place before the next official congress of FIFA in Bangkok next year.
