Inter Miami can't stop him, Lionel Messi joins the National Team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers

The Argentine national team has started preparations for the World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador. The team of technician Lionel Scaloni wants to start the adventure in the qualifiers, fully relying on the football star, Lionel Messi.

The 36-year-old will lead Argentina in their opening games against Ecuador and Bolivia, the captain's first international games since joining Major League Soccer's Inter Miami.

The forward is having a good moment in his career, as since July when he signed in Florida, he has scored 11 goals in 10 meetings and won the League Cup.

This was the first time that the entire squad of world champions met in preparation for the North American 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Argentina will host Ecuador in Buenos Aires on September 7 and travel to Bolivia five days later.
