The dismembered body of a soccer player was discovered Sunday in a river in Brazil's southwestern Mato Grosso do Sul region.

Hugo Skulny, 19, had been missing since June 25 after attending a party with friends in Pindoty Porã, Paraguay, police said.

He was last seen when one of his friends dropped him off near his ex-girlfriend's house in the Brazilian city of Sete Quedas.

According to the head of the police of this district, the severed body of Skulni was found, but not the head.

It is further said that the footballer was identified thanks to a tattoo he dedicated to his father who passed away two years ago.

At least one suspect, whose name has not been released by the police, has been arrested for this case.
