After "Dyrrah City Football Academy", born in a twinning with the champions of the Premier League, Manchester City, to train the new generations of Albanian football, in Durrës we will also have one of the most popular tennis academies.

The Spanish legend of this sport, Rafael Nadal, together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, have announced the plan to open the Rafa Nadal Sports Center complex in Albania, about 30 km from Tirana.

The multi-sport complex will implement the training methodology of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, which began operating in November 2014, when the eponymous foundation opened the first academy in Manacor.

The Rafa Nadal Sports Center in Albania will have 12 tennis courts, 6 padel courts, a multi-sports court, a gym and wellness area, a swimming pool and a restaurant area. In addition, there will be a shop and a museum with some of Rafa Nadal's trophies and other objects donated by great athletes to the tennis player from Madrid.

The main goal of this branch of the academy is to develop and promote tennis in Albania through the commitment of Nadal and his team.

"We are very happy to announce the construction and opening of a center in Albania. The project is exceptional and we liked the country's vision for promoting sport and its values. I'm sure it will be successful," said Nadal.

Thus, Prime Minister Rama confirmed that the new complex will be located next to Manchester City's new football center.

"There are many champions and great professionals in the world of sports, but there are not many champions of life and human values like Rafa. From afar, I always had the impression that Rafa was a great man, but now I have even more admiration for his modesty and the way he approaches life. I think the value of this center will lie not only in learning tennis or other sports, but also in helping children and young people to understand how important it is to be a professional and a good person."
