Former Albanian national team coach Gianni de Biasi has given an interview to Spanish newspaper AS, telling how Adnan Januzaj and his father Abedini never opened the phone.
Januzaj was Albania's great wish years ago, but chose Belgium. They harshly rejected Albania as well as Kosovo, refusing to meet with the federation leaders.
Many years ago, De Biasi also stated that "I can make a meeting with Barack Obama (then president of the United States) rather than With Abedin (Januzaj's father).
As the match between Spain and Albania approaches, "AS" has contacted De Biasi, who has openly said that Januzaj never opened his phone.
"Many of these Albanians were not recognized by the Federation, nor were they considered as such. I have been a lot of people from different countries."
"Did you fail at anyone?" There were some actually. I didn't make it with Adnan Janzuaj, who is now at Sevilla. He never opened the phone, so did his father. Then Januzaj played for Belgium, but very little," he explained.
In the end, De Biasi added that Albania could stand up to Spain.
"They will give 101 percent. They have quality in midfield because Bajrami, Ramadan or Inter Asllani are very young and can do great things. It is the worst group they could have been."
