Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is often in the news for his achievements on the pitch and his charming personality off it.

After being named the world's highest-paid athlete last month by Forbes, the Portuguese star has also been named Instagram's top earner for the third year in a row. But not only that.

The 38-year-old from Al Nassr has made social media history, being confirmed as the first individual with over 600 million followers on Instagram.

The historic record comes a few months after he reached 500 million followers in November 2022. One of the most popular figures in the world, Ronaldo has amassed over 150 million followers on Instagram since May, thanks to his active involvement on the platform.

Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi holds second place in terms of followers on Instagram with 482 million, followed by singer and actress Selena Gomez in third place with 427 million.

Kylie Jenner, Dëayne "The Rock" Johnson, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Khloe Kardashian and Justin Bieber are among the other famous people in the "top 10" of Instagram accounts with the most followers.
