Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal at the end of the challenge that Portugal played in the transfer against Iceland.

This was a special encounter for the Lusitanian star who became the first player with 200 international caps.

Ronaldo held the record for most international appearances, breaking that of Kuwaiti Bader Al-Mutaua, who held the record of 196 matches.

The 38-year-old forward made it through Portugal's March Euro 2024 qualifier against Liechtenstein.

The Lusitanians suffered not a little against the Icelanders, who defended themselves well. But the Portuguese increased the pace after Vilum Tor Vilumson was sent off in the 81st minute.

At first, the referee canceled the goal for offside, but after consulting the VAR system, he called it regular.

It was the 38-year-old striker's 123rd goal for Portugal, extending his record as the all-time leading international goalscorer.

In other group matches, Bosnia was beaten by Luxembourg 2-0, while Slovakia beat Liechtenstein 1-0.

The Lusitanians lead Group J with 12 points, followed by Slovakia with 10.
