The request not to provide Iranians with Albanian visas has meanwhile ignited fierce debates between the federations in Tirana and Tehran.

750 athletes and their staffs from 45 countries of the world were participants in this international youth activity, which Albania has been organizing for two years, becoming part of the international agenda of this sport.

This event came after the European Youth and the Electoral General Assembly of the World Federation (IWF), which took place in Tirana last year.

In the framework of taking measures for the organization of these activities, where many participating countries need to be provided with visas, the Albanian Weightlifting Federation (FSHP) cooperates with local authorities, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Intelligence Agencies. But unlike other times, in the last event there was a rejection that had not happened before.

The agents of the Information Service have appeared near the offices of the FA to verbally communicate the rejection of the 38 athletes and coaches and staff of the representative of Iran.

This national team has not been allowed to obtain visas to enter the territory of the Republic of Albania. And Iran did not participate in the world championship that took place in Durrës.

Such activities, where the participants come at their own expense, are a significant source of income for the Albanian Weightlifting Federation, which can then develop and contribute to the improvement of one of the sports of our tradition.

Confidentially for "Si Newspaper", sources close to the FHP informed that there have been several attempts by the authorities to allow the team to Iran. For this, there was a request from the World Weightlifting Federation, which in the city of Durrës during the organization of the World Championship, also held a meeting of the Executive Committee.

But the security authorities in Albania were determined in their attitude, bringing a loss of about 60 thousand euros to the budget of this activity, related to accommodation, transportation, food and everything he needs to stay here for about a week. or so, a team of about 38 people.

The failed attempts to find a solution have created a tense wave of communications between the ALF and the Iranian Weightlifting Federation, which has ended with the irritation of the Iranian side, where among others in the last email, after they realized that the efforts were in vain, they wrote: "You remain a communist country..."

As a result, apart from Russia and Belarus, two national teams suspended by all international sports federations due to the war against Ukraine, the termination of our country's diplomatic relations with Iran since September of last year, also led to the exclusion of Iran's representative from the Weightlifting World Cup that took place in Albania./ Taken from Gazeta Si
