Barcelona brings back defender Cancelo, details revealed

Joao Cancelo

Joao Cancelo has returned to Barcelona for the second time in his career.

The Catalan club has made official the loan of the Portuguese defender from Al Hilal until the end of the current season.

Cancelo had previously played for Barcelona in the 2023–2024 season, also on loan from Manchester City.

During that period, he recorded 42 appearances, with 4 goals and 5 assists.

According to the agreement, the 31-year-old player will wear the number 2 shirt.

Cancelo can be activated on both sides of the defense.

He is expected to be an additional alternative for the team led by Hansi Flick in domestic and European competitions.
