Allegri is considering leaving Milan, he no longer speaks to Ibra: Reasons for
Allegri and Ibra

At the most delicate moment of the season, with qualification for the Champions League seriously at risk after the defeat to Atalanta and with an environment already consumed by tensions, Milan risks facing a serious internal rift. Not only the results, not only the fans' protest against Giorgio Furlani and the American ownership. Within Milanello, according to what Corriere della Sera reports, the relationship between coach Massimiliano Allegri and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reached breaking point.

The coach from Livorno, who returned to the red and black bench with enthusiasm after the championship title won in 2011, already looks tired. The team's form has dropped significantly: only one victory in the last six games, the one in Verona, while the end of the championship has turned into an obstacle course. But the deeper problem would not be only the field. According to reports, it is about the internal climate, characterized by factions, misunderstandings and increasingly unclear roles.

The clash after Napoli-Milan and the cold with Ibrahimovic

The crisis between coach Allegri and Ibrahimovic erupted after Milan's defeat against Napoli in early April. The cause of the debate seems almost paradoxical: the choice of the third goalkeeper for the team next season. A secondary issue, but enough to upset an already fragile balance.

According to the reconstruction made by Monica Colombo, there were fierce verbal clashes between the two. From that moment on, Ibrahimovic would not be seen again at Milanello, returning to the “San Siro” only recently. A strong signal, since the Swede is not just any figure: today he is Senior Advisor of RedBird and his weight within the club seems to be increasing even more.

The relationship between them has never been easy, not even when Ibra was still a player under Allegri. The Swede, years later, told of the strong clash with the coach after Arsenal-Milan in 2012: "We had lost 3-0 to Arsenal and Allegri was very happy. It is true that we had passed the round, but there was nothing to laugh about and I told him. Allegri replied: 'Ibra, think about yourself, you have done a f*ck'. I told him that he had done the f*ck: out of fear he had put two goalkeepers on the bench...".

The phone call with Leao and Fofana and the Cassano case

To make matters worse, according to the newspaper's reconstruction, other episodes would have occurred. Allegri had revealed the frequent contacts between Ibrahimovic and former striker Antonio Cassano, one of the harshest critics of his way of conceiving football, often expressed during the Twitch show "Viva el Futbol".

Not only that. Ibra, after Milan's decline in form, had started calling several players directly, including Rafael Leao and Fofana, giving them tactical advice. An intervention that Allegri would not have welcomed, especially at a time when the team needed clear references and not other overlaps.

The danger, in such a context, is obvious: a coach who tries to protect the group, a manager who interferes with the players, a contested club and a sports director, Igli Tare, perceived increasingly weak within the dynamics of the club.

Allegri could leave even if he reaches the Champions League

The end of the season thus becomes decisive not only for the standings, but also for the future of the bench. The 58-year-old from Livorno has publicly chosen conciliatory tones: "My goal is to stay as long as possible". But after this statement, useful mainly to protect the team, the scenario looks different.

If Ibrahimovic is to truly become the most powerful man in the new Milan, Allegri may decide to end his second stint with the Reds after just one season. The Italian national team is also in the background, with the coach's name linked to the Italy bench. Meanwhile, Milan still has to secure the Champions League. But the problem is that the most difficult match now seems to be the domestic one.
