reaction
I am following the latest developments in Albania with deep concern. At this delicate moment, when the situation has reached a point that requires extraordinary attention and responsibility, Albanian politics must demonstrate prudence, wisdom and a high awareness of the common interest.
Today, more than ever, it is time to overcome narrow party interests and any other considerations that may hinder finding solutions for the good of Albania and its citizens.
At this moment, I call on the entire Albanian political class to urgently reflect. This is a matter of national interest, which requires shared responsibility and the will to surpass oneself, for the good of the country.
The current situation must be overcome with prudence, through dialogue and responsible actions, so as not to further damage trust in institutions, the lives of citizens, and the democratic functioning of the state.
Albania is not the property of anyone, but the homeland of all. Therefore, when Albania faces difficulties, we all have a responsibility to contribute to overcoming them. The Albania that burns is the Albania of all and its loss is a loss for each of us.
I also call on students and all protesters to express their demands with dignity and not allow tensions and clashes to dilute their message.
Destruction is not a solution, behind every business lies the work, the toil and the sacrifice of people. The strength of a protest lies in the clarity of demands, civic persistence and loyalty to democratic principles.
Meanwhile, state institutions have a special responsibility in maintaining order, security and dignity of citizens. The police uniform should be a symbol of law, professionalism and service to citizens, while institutions should act with impartiality, prudence and full respect for fundamental rights. Every situation should be handled responsibly, avoiding escalation and guaranteeing respect for the law by all.
No form of violence, from any side, can be the answer to the crisis. Clashes do not replace dialogue, nor destruction bring about the required change. Albania, as a country aiming for membership in the European Union, must demonstrate in practice respect for democracy, the rule of law, institutions and the rights of citizens.
Today more than ever, we must prove that we can disagree without being divided, and that political differences are part of democracy, but they should not become an obstacle to the common interest.
Albania is the homeland of all Albanians, inside and outside its borders, it is the common home of generations that sacrificed for freedom and equality. In such moments, political leadership is measured by the ability to reduce tensions, to create bridges of communication and to give society concrete ways out.
Therefore, this is the time for a broad patriotic reflection. Albania needs a commitment that transcends party lines and puts the interests of citizens, institutional stability, and the future of the country first.
Let dialogue prevail over conflict and the future of Albania over everything else. This is not the time to deepen divisions, but to find common ground. This is not the time to incite conflict, but to build solutions.
In this difficult moment, my call is for prudence, dialogue and nationwide responsibility. We must all do our part so that Albania overcomes this situation with the least possible consequences for its citizens and institutions. Albania belongs to everyone and its future is a shared responsibility.
