The President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, will hold a working lunch with the leaders of the Western Balkans on Thursday.

The spokeswoman of the EC, Ana Pisonero, has confirmed that the invitation went to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mockoski, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojke Spajic, the President of The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Kristo and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

However, Pisoneri did not say whether all the leaders will be present.

Von der Leyen invited the Balkan leaders to confirm the continuation of cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans and the EU in the framework of the region's approach to the bloc.

The focus is on the reform agendas that the six Balkans have submitted to Brussels.

The reform agenda is a document that the six candidates for EU membership from the Western Balkans had to submit to the EU Commission in order to receive the money from the financial package for the region worth six billion euros.

In June of this year, von der Leyen won a second five-year term at the head of the European Commission.
