Lulzim Basha has expressed his shock regarding the sudden death of the former democratic deputy, Gerti Bogdani .

Basha wrote through a post on Facebook that Bogdani was his friend and colleague, while he expressed his condolences to the family.

Basha's reaction:

"I am shocked by the news of the sudden and premature death of my friend and colleague Gerti Bogdani. My deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with them in this great pain.

A free spirit and devoted to others, a talented politician with values, Gerti served with passion and integrity in his public functions, honoring the Democratic Party with dignified representation at home and abroad.

On this day of mourning, when the family has lost its dearest man, the Democrats remember with the greatest respect the model of the consensual intellectual and one of their most devoted representatives, and I an unforgettable friend. Rest in peace!" , writes Basha.

How did the death of Gerti Bogdani happen?

Gerti Bogdani allegedly died due to a cardiac arrest. He was drinking coffee in the premises of the Rogner hotel in Tirana, when he showed concern.

"I have breathing problems",  he said to his friends, with whom he was drinking coffee, and left for the toilet.

But after he was late, his worried friends went to the toilet and forced open the door.

They found the former PD deputy lying on the ground and gave him first aid.

Then they called the ambulance, but according to the witnesses, it was delayed. Gerti Bogdani received the first medical aid in the ambulance and then in QSUT, but he did not manage to survive.

On 18.09.2024, around 11:30 a.m., a 45-year-old GB citizen was found unconscious in the premises of a hotel on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard. This citizen was transported to the hospital for medical assistance, but died.

From the actions carried out in advance, it is suspected that the death occurred due to natural causes.

The investigative team is working to clarify the circumstances of the event.
