The commanding chairman of PD, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has ironized Sali Berisha, saying that it may be a tool that will lead the democrats to the left party, referring to Ilir Meta's Freedom Party.
Speaking after the meeting of the parliamentary group, Alibeaj declared that Berisha is not doing anything more than Rama towards the DP, while he further added that he himself is proud to be in the DP.
"You will not hear me use insults or lynch even for the strongest opponent. Politics is done with ideas if you have them, with a different vision, so I chose this approach. As for the history of tools, hostages, I have a rationale. Vegel can be anyone, the one who can take the Democrats and lead them to a left party, a party that in 2013 worked with Rama to bring him to power.
Coherence in political attitudes can be one of the virtues that Albanian politics can have. Inviting the Democrats to go to another party, what else has Edi Rama done against us? Blackmail and insult to PD. Not only a matter of tools, but also of pride. I am proud to stay as long as I can to tell the citizens that politics is done differently, rain or shine. This is the logo that has oriented this country towards the West. This is the set of values that gave the Albanians a western face. There was a lot of blackmail. Although we may seem weak and naive, it is worth it", said Alibeaj.
He further stated that the PD headquarters should be vacated, based on the decision of the Court of Appeal. Alibeaj brought to attention the scenes of January 8, last year, where there was a clash between the democrats at the headquarters of the DP and said that he will not incite people to conflict.
Alibeja stated that he claims that just as his group left the headquarters on March 25, Berisha should also leave.
"I'm saying it here in the new temporary offices for the election campaign, not the headquarters. There are ugly scenes that do us no honor, those who were outside and those of us who were inside, are those of January 8. It would be enough Edi Rama and his people to show a 30-second spot on that situation to be given to the Albanians: Who are you trusting?
For this reason, despite the many emotional, but also rational demands that with the Court of Appeal's ruling, the functioning of the DP could be morally demanded, we could demand the offices that legally belong to the DP. I have proposed this position. I'm not one of those people who lead people prey to their emotions in this situation, I don't lead them into conflict, clashes, I don't itch wounds that are barely closing. I believe in the law. When there is a court decision, that decision is accepted. Since the Court of Appeal has given that decision, those offices, those Democratic headquarters will have to be vacated, as I actually did, on March 25. Although the decision of the first instance was not definitive. In compliance with the law we left. We already demand that those offices be vacated," said Alibeaj.
