Prime Minister Edi Rama has returned to his column of confronting commentators on social media, this time responding to a person who accuses him of drug use.
The commentator ironically wrote to Rama to "stop using" drugs, saying "he's got a crooked nose." But Prime Minister Edi Rama didn't give up and recorded a video response to him.
Rama says that the reason his nose is crooked and why he has a crack in his lip is because he was brutally raped with iron bars and gloves by a group of people commanded by the Democratic Party in 1997.
Rama's response to the commentator:
No dear Ardit, but yes, it is true that I do not have the right to this nasal bone, and do you know why? Because that very party tar broke my nose, along with my skull here behind, and also split my lip with iron bars and gloves. And I am showing you that you are probably young and have no idea of the pyramids of Sude and Rrapushi that robbed entire Albanians of their savings with the blessing of the great tar to say and write that I am a drug addict.
Here... It was 1997, I was collecting signatures from civil society for the resignation of the government of the time, to avoid the catastrophe that followed. When they ambushed me in the dark under the house, it was January like now and they left me on the street covered in blood. Then a party cadre came out and said it must have been a fight over some woman's job. You don't even know me, nor have you seen me take drugs. I have nothing to do with you. But listen to me for one thing, respect yourself. Don't imitate the political cadre's model, but maintain your dignity even in opposition.
