"Insulting calls in Kumanovo, alarm for everyone", the Albanian

Albania's ambassador to North Macedonia, Denion Meidani, has reacted to the incident in Kumanovo, where the basketball match was dominated by racist chants.

"Hate speech has no place in sports, nor in society. The insulting calls in Kumanovo are an alarm for all of us.

Coexistence requires daily commitment, respect for the rules of the game and for each other — not just in the stands, but everywhere. I am closely following the institutional reactions and I expect the highest authorities of North Macedonia to speak clearly, strongly and responsibly," he says.
