Prime Minister Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama has revealed details from his meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. In a joint press conference with the senior official, Rama stressed that the focus was on EU integration.

Rama: We talked about the new growth plan that the EU and the Commission under the leadership of Von der Leyen have made available to the Western Balkans, giving each country the opportunity to be financed by the EU in support of further deepening reforms, regardless of the agenda and the achievement of objectives.

Even at this point, they received a very positive assessment and we will continue to meticulously carry out all the tasks we have undertaken.

We have also talked about strengthening cooperation in the region, taking into account the necessity to connect much more strongly in function of our being not only in the middle of Europe but in function of our future, which is in the European Union.
