In a statement to the media after the government meeting, Prime Minister Edi Rama focused on the case of the murder of the 14-year-old boy at the "Fan Noli" school by his peer.
Rama said the government is working with the United Arab Emirates on a new digital school control system, which has proven successful there.
The head of the government emphasized that punitive measures will be reviewed if the rule of banning phones in schools is violated.
" We are working on a new digital control system of schools and every classroom with smart cameras of national roads and cities. We have been working for a year with this project with the United Arab Emirates, where this system has been successfully implemented in terms of increasing security in general and with impressive results in increasing security and reducing bullying in schools. We have also agreed on the volume of financing, and soon, we will present it publicly and start the implementation work, which we intend to complete in 20 months, while step by step we start the equipment with this system. For years we have prohibited the entry of cell phones into schools, but it is time to review the sanctions for violating this rule ," said Rama.
