The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, participated via a Skype connection in the Investment Summit in the Western Balkans that is being held in London.
He said that Albania has already changed a lot.
"I am a veteran of these types of formats, because I have been present since this format was born, 10 years ago. In 10 years many things have changed except the amount and color of my hair now. The region is doing well and while the world is also changing, Albania has changed a lot. From a country with the stigma of an unsafe country, to a country which last year reached a figure of 10 million tourists, more than three times the population we have", said Rama.
He mentioned the new energy resources, while he said that before Albania's energy system was "almost being destroyed", because, as he said, "the majority of the population did not pay the bills".
"The price of electricity in Albania has not changed at all and we are below the regional levels", he said.
Rama said that Albania's public debt marked a historic drop below 60% at the end of last year, "after it had reached its peak, almost 80%, due to the tragic earthquake, as well as the pandemic which came immediately after the earthquake".
"Together with other countries in the region, we are a good place to increase serious investments. They should (invest), because if they don't, someone else will," said the Prime Minister of Albania.
