"Shkodra is a top priority and it will continue to be so", said Prime Minister Edi Rama during his speech at the Extended Assembly of the Socialist Party.
The Prime Minister of the country spoke at length about the projects that are being implemented and that are planned to be developed in Shkodër.
Rama said that work has started on the Shkodra entrance project, the Rozafa castle, the Shirokë-Zogaj road, the restoration of the Shkodra Municipality building and others.
" Shkodra is the only strategic node of the country's development that is still untreated. The other nodes still have a lot of work to do in order to completely turn into a development engine that works to their full potential in the country's economy. Shkodra is a top priority and we will continue to make it a top priority. We have started the Shkodra entrance project, it is being done and is on the construction site. The work has started, it is the first phase. It seemed to me a significant coincidence that the company that had received the contract is the same company that did part of the work for the Lungomare of Shkodra.
Shkodra will finally have an entrance. Shkodër is entered as msheftas. A city that has the blessing of water and where you enter and have no water at all because you have busy views, is a city that has been taken hostage. We will remove the loop, it will be a very nice development in that area. We have another project for the castle of Rozafa, to make it even more attractive and available for the activities that take place there. We are working on another project, for the wire factory to turn that area into a destination mainly for young people with sports grounds, sports activities, mainly, but not only.
We were in the town hall and saw the new project that is now ready for the whole area of Zdrale and I am glad that I will have a hand in removing that horrible market behind the stadium. The market will be removed, but those who have quality in the work they do will not be left without any opportunity. It is a big investment that connects the stadium with the central part. There is significant commercial activity and a great potential that today is not visible because it is covered by all the mess that it is.
We will implement the project for the next year and in stages and it will become a new center of Shkodra that will create a lot of energy for the city and that will increase tourism in the city. We have the Shirokë-Zogaj road, which is part of the plan to develop the Shkodra lake area. We will start with the restoration of the Shkodër Municipality building. That building speaks volumes about who has run Shkodra for 30 years. It is left in a very bad situation and is the town house. Bennett has done well to open it up and turn it into an accessible point for people. It needs to be a diamond in the hand of the city and not a building that makes you feel sorry when you see it.
We are finishing the Museum of Memory, the Museum of human history. We will turn it into a dignified museum that will witness the tragic stories of communism" , said Rama.
During his speech, Rama emphasized that after 30 years the city has changed and is cleaner than before.
The jokes of the head of the government towards the mayor Benet Beci were not missing either.
"The residential solar energy project I hope will go ahead, but it's Bennett without the government and I'm confident that Bennett being one left foot and one right foot than the rest of us are two left feet will know how to use his right leg instead of his left leg when we throw balls at him.
Without forgetting the Dukagjin road, a project promised a lot but not by me. When I told him that he didn't want to, he told me that one of the things is Dukagjini street and I promised him. I hardly promise a word, but if I say it, I do my best to keep it, despite the fact that politics is like life, we change plans along the way. But keeping the promises is a matter of time.
We kept most of them. The reason we are here is to keep all our promises. This is the first meeting with a country that we did not govern before. Since we are here to close the cycle of meetings before the Congress, I thought it appropriate to talk about this blessed city that lived for 30 years with the idea that we were the curse and has only just begun to see that we are the blessing of Shkodra and the curse was who else ", Prime Minister Rama said, among other things, in his speech.
