Democratic Party candidate Gjin Gjoni was invited today to a live broadcast on the Breaking with Fiori Dardhën show on Top News, where he spoke about the campaign he is conducting in the Lezha district.
Among other things, he also spoke about his time as a judge, when he was widely targeted in the media as a symbol of corruption.
When moderator Dardha asked if this penalized him, he replied:
"No, to be honest, this does not harm me for a very simple reason, because it is known that all the statements so far have been media and propaganda statements and that they have come from the Prime Minister of Albania and undoubtedly, with the moment that it comes from the Prime Minister of Albania, they also have a political connotation. But what I need to clarify for the viewers of Top News, but also for all Albanians, is that this has been clarified once and for all and every conjecture and every propaganda and every smear of my personality has been resolved with two court decisions, which have been vetted. After my resignation, it turns out that there were in-depth investigations in 2002 and 2003 into all my assets and the conclusion was that Gjin Gjoni absolutely does not have any unjustified assets and assets that have been illegally placed. So everything that has been said is only related to propaganda, which normally had negative effects during the time I was a judge, but the citizens of Lezha and the Lezha region, but At the same time, the voters of the Democratic Party have also understood that it is a genuine political war."
Gjoni also stopped to comment on the SP candidates in the Lezha district, where regarding the SP political leader in this district, Minister Ulsi Manja, he said that he does not know the district.
Without a doubt, Mr. Manja is also the political leader of the region, but to be honest, he has no connection with the Lezha region. This is also due to his being a minister, because both the origin of Mr. Manja, but also his political activity has only appeared in Lezha in recent years. To be honest, he has not brought any innovation.
