Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias spoke about his visit to Albania and the statement he made about "issues that do not exist".
During the joint conference, the Albanian Foreign Minister, Olta Xhaçka, stated that she hopes that Albania and Greece will discuss with a constructive approach not only the issue of the maritime border, but also other difficult issues such as the law of war or the Cham issue.
To the Cham issue, Dendias responded with a threat: “We should not create issues that do not exist because this will lead to multiple consequences, where Greece will then decide other issues that may affect your itinerary in Europe.
In an interview with "Skai", the Greek Foreign Minister reiterated that this is "an issue that does not exist" and added that he gave the answer at the moment, "so that there are no misunderstandings".
He also added that in the meeting he had with Prime Minister Edi Rama, the impression was that his visit to Albania was "extremely successful".
"The answer has been given and there are no misunderstandings from either side. "I do not think that Albania-Greece relations will be held hostage by that issue in particular, which the Greek side rightly calls non-existent," said Dendias.
Asked if Greece could veto Albania's integration negotiations, Dendias replied:
"I do not want to talk about attitudes regarding hypothetical issues. Albania has made its choice, which is the European Union, and consequently the partnership with Greece. "Albania stands by this election, with all the policies it includes."
