Reaction: EU against acts of violence by the DP

The EU Delegation in Tirana has reacted to the Democratic Party's protest the previous day in Tirana.

It condemns acts of violence, which also endangered human lives.

"The European Union Delegation stresses that the right to peaceful assembly is a fundamental pillar of any democratic society. It must be exercised responsibly, in full respect for the rule of law and the security of all individuals."

In this context, the EU Delegation expresses concern about the recent acts of violence in Tirana, which endangered human lives.

"The EU Delegation calls on political actors to show restraint. We support constructive engagement in the context of important reforms on Albania's path towards the European Union," the EU Delegation's response states.
