From Italy, where the wine fair is being held in Bardolino, the leaders of the three Balkan countries, Prime Minister Edi Rama, North Macedonia's Kovacevski and Serbian President Vučić, held a joint conference where they spoke about the progress of the economic and trade initiative within the "Open Balkans".

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the next meeting of the "Open Balkans" will be held at the end of May.

"For the first time, our producers are participating in these fairs that are at the Champions League level, and we are here thanks to the launch of the Belgrade wine fair last year, which will be repeated. It will be a great opportunity for our agriculture, for our wine production, for our challenges and ambitions and it will be a great opportunity for our producers to make contacts. On the other hand, this was an opportunity to share views and to precede other meetings. We will meet at the end of May and then we will be at the bread fair in Albania at the beginning of Autumn and then the wine fair. In the meantime we have started planning the first summer cup of primary and secondary school children of the best teams. In the meantime, I am sure that by experiencing this experience, the children will learn from each other".

Speaking about the opening of the negotiations, Rama emphasized that Albania will fulfill all the chapters required by the European Union.

"We are working on a strategy to strengthen relations with the EU, to strengthen cooperation. When it comes to the process of European integration, chapters, paragraphs, sentences, we are very keen to fulfill them. We will not ask for gifts. We will not ask to have artificial accelerations".

Rama sees the departure of the workforce from Albania and the region and the demand for labor from EU countries as a concern that will be discussed at the next meeting at the end of May at "Open Balkan".

"We are concerned about this new momentum in Europe in search of the labor force. It is their legitimate position, but we are not somewhere else, we are in the middle of Europe. And we will discuss this at our May meeting. I wanted to mention quite significant figures for the trade volume. The commercial volume has increased by 28.4%, it is an extraordinary increase that is the result of everything we have done", emphasized Rama.
