Prime Minister Edi Rama today asked for the votes of Albanians living in Crete, Greece. During a meeting in the neighboring country, Rama listed the reasons why immigrants should vote for the Socialist Party on May 11.
He said that Albania should be a member of the European Union, thus being equipped with the Albanian EU passport, which would bring many benefits to immigrants.
"The question you often ask is about documents. Today we have the golden opportunity that while we are building and have built a very positive relationship with our neighbors here in Greece, not to wait until the documents for all Albanians here, or the agreement on pensions, are made, but on May 11th, let's all vote together where the right strength is found and at the right time to receive the passport that you will need for many years from the Greek state from the Albanian state as a European Union passport.
"The Albanian EU passport is the same, absolutely the same as the Greek EU passport. With the Albanian EU passport you can stay here, work here, you can transfer any pension income there, and the state here recognizes your pension for the work you have done here. With the Albanian EU passport you are the same in the reality of the law, with the same freedoms and the same rights," said Rama.
