Prime Minister Edi Rama has criticized the European Union, which according to him divides the countries of the Region into classes compared to other countries.
The head of the government says that the countries of the region receive only 138 euros per capita, which hinders the process.
"The process has been hampered by long-term issues between some countries in the region. I can say that our EU neighbors have received over 4500 euros per capita and our countries receive 138 euros per capita. These figures are a frightening testimony of a class division that has deepened our division in the same house of Europe.
In the framework of the EU investment plan in the Western Balkans, the investments are significant. But only 10% are grants and 90%, the mechanism of access to them is slow and outdated. I'm not asking for funding equal to the EU countries, what I'm saying is that in this geopolitical landscape that is developing quickly, action is needed and faster," said Rama.
