Prime Minister Edi Rama asked for the vote of Albanian immigrants in Greece, who this year will vote for the first time from the countries where they live.
Rama asked for their vote, in order to take Albania to the EU with full rights, just as Albanians have taken their families to the European Union.
Rama revealed his objective that in 2030 the flag of Albania will be raised in Brussels.
"This is a special day for me for another reason. You are not a citizen abroad with a right to vote. Today we are voters who for the first time will participate in the elections enjoying the right to vote, right where you are from your home.
You know, I had to try for a long time to make this promise a reality, which they couldn't keep for quite some time, because it was impossible without getting the other party's votes. I can tell you that in the coming spring I am asking for your vote from Greece to make Albania2 in 2030 a full member of the EU. To give Albania the same opportunity that you Albanians of Europe have given your families, the opportunity to benefit from the benefits of living within the European family. To make it possible, together with the Albanians wherever they are, to raise the flag of Skënderbeu and Ismail Qemali in Brussels within this decade", said Rama.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the relations between the Albanians of Greece and the Greeks of Albania.
"You Albanians of Greece and Greeks of Albania are the essence within the indivisible core of a neighborhood that should be a source of friendship and not a prison of conflicts. Common source of power, do not fight against each other. Source of partnerships at every level. No reason for deadlocks between each other, which then the ordinary citizens of our two countries pay for".
