As part of the electoral meetings for the May 11 elections, Socialist leader Edi Rama stopped by to meet with citizens in Maliq. His message is clear for all Albanians, asking for votes beyond the left and right.
The SP leader considers May 11th a historic moment, saying that the ballot boxes should not simply yield an arithmetic victory, but also a popular majority to send the message to the EU that Mrs. Albania wants to sit at the common table.
"We have made it a habit to hold the first meeting in every race towards the finish in Maliq to receive the great positive energy that exists in this station and in this unshakable bastion of the SP. Today I have come here to talk about a very big, very special job, that an individual and the people rarely get to do, and this is the great job of May 11, which beyond party cheerleading, we all need to unite as Albanians and by uniting, give very strong support to the negotiations with the European Union.
We all need to unite as Albanians and give a very clear message to all European countries, by bringing out of the ballot boxes a popular majority that says to Europe, we want to sit at the common EU table now. There are still two years left, keep in mind that negotiations are taking place between two parties, there are about 1 thousand people on our side, 1 thousand people on their side who are dealing with the negotiations to understand what kind of workload it is", said Rama.
He sees a vote for political opponents as a vote for the sole interest of the swamp family, as he calls Sali Berisha.
"This is a choice between the interest of the entire people, and the plight of a single person. The choice is against the great common good of this entire nation and the interest of a single family. The choice is between Albania 2030, in the European Union, a lady in Europe, and the swamp and its owl to return Albania to where it ends up when it is in those hands," said Rama.
