As he had announced yesterday, Prime Minister Rama held a conversation with the citizens on Facebook. The first question was about the cyber attack from Iran which targeted government websites and platforms.

Question: How prepared is Albania to withstand another cyber attack? How secure is our data?

Rama: This is a new concern because we have had continuous attacks for many years. All these attacks recorded by the institution that coordinates the whole project of the digital revolution have been generally unsuccessful attacks. While this is a genuine war aggression in the world of the Internet and all digital systems. The aggression had a very clear purpose, the disappearance of all data and the destruction of all systems to leave a scorched earth behind. This is the conclusion of the experts. The attack did not reach its goal. The damage is much lighter than the degree of aggressiveness. Systems are back up and running. This war continues.

Albania fell prey to two successive cyber attacks. From the first attack on July 15, the government's online pages and the e-Albania online platform were hacked, while on September 9, the TIM system fell victim to the attack at all border points of Albania.

Iran was behind the attacks, with which Albania severed diplomatic relations.
