Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech today at the NATO Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania. Some of the topics that Rama touched on were the shelter of the Mujahideen, the cyber attack on Albania as well as the delicate situation in the Western Balkans region.
The head of the Albanian government has said that our country sheltered the mujahedin to save them, but not for them to carry out cyber attacks from our country towards the regime of Iran.
"I can say that we are a small country and we are not in a position to change the fate of any conflict war or battle, but when we are asked to help, we are very happy to do so. When we were asked to help the MEK group who are a tough pack, otherwise they would have been massacred by the secret services in Iran we were asked to save their lives.
Albanians have in their DNA to save the lives of others. The agreement was clear that they would stay in Albania to be safe and not to turn Albania into a political platform to attack the regime. We were affected by cyber attacks from Iran. We are trying to do a lot to strengthen cyber security", said Rama.
Regarding the tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, Rama said that in these two countries, a third party is being established, the extremist and criminal groups, which have also caused the riots in the North of Kosovo. Rama requested that the EU intervene to bring the parties to the dialogue table.
"In Belgrade and Pristina there is a third party that is rising, which are the extreme groups in the north of Kosovo, which has been created as a haven for criminal activities, drug trafficking and arms trafficking.
The north of Kosovo can turn into a hotbed. It is time to realize this dialogue facilitated by the EU with a stronger stance of NATO through KFOR", declared Rama.
