Prime Minister Edi Rama has openly defended the director of AKSH, Mirlinda Karçanaj , for whom SPAK has imposed the measure of ' house arrest ' on charges of violating equality in tenders.

In the last media conference for this year, Rama said that he has maximum respect for the director of the AKSHI, as according to him, she has structured this institution.

The Prime Minister even lamented the plight of Karçanaj, who is accused of embezzling millions of euros, for living in a rented house.

"This is part of the investigation. I have no knowledge of this and I cannot make any comment on the half-truths that come up and down. It is a process, investigations will be conducted. At the head of the AKSH team is a woman who has unquestionable respect. Linda Karçajan, who has a security measure, with a rented house where she lives, as she previously lived in a post-communist house in her parents' apartment. I have known her for 20 years and she has my respect," said Rama.

Vna writes that Karçanaj has no asset declaration either in the HIDAKKI or on the Open Spending Albania website.

Asset declaration is a legal obligation for every state official, especially for Karçanaj, who has held the position of director of the National Agency for the Protection of Civil Liberties for eight years.

The question arises whether this is the result of HIDACCI forgetting to request the declaration, or is only Karçanaj exempt from this legal obligation?

In both cases, a clarification is required.
