Prime Minister Edi Rama exchanged jokes with excellent gymnasts during the "Gold Medal" award ceremony.
"This awarding of gold medals is the only moment during my work that I find myself shorter than those I face," said the head of government.
Edi Rama said that high school students have gone through difficulties to get to where they are, as he addressed them saying "you are heroes to me".
Edi Rama: I always remember the time when I was your age, and where I was under the bombardment of my parents, I talked to myself and said, "Swear that you will never forget that when you become like them, you will not act like them. And you will not give unsolicited advice."
I am convinced that among you there are girls and boys who grew up in families with problems, who have only one parent working, who have taken all 10 while having another alternative, to find all possible excuses for not being at the top and not staying at the top.
I am convinced that among you there are girls and boys who may have had to walk long distances to go to and from school.
But, despite the difficulties, you have chosen the most difficult path, you have challenged all the difficulties that you have encountered through no fault of your own. Today you are here as the embodiment of long-term success, it is a whole life in school, climbing the mountain, making you here today at the top and other peaks are ahead of you to climb. For this reason, you are heroes to me.
This awarding of gold medals is the only moment during my work that I find myself shorter than those in front of me. Believe me, believe me, I envy you. The whole world is before you to master. You have all the time you need ahead of you, unlike me in your time, you have everything at your disposal if you want your knowledge to be as great as the world. You have no shortage of ways to go to every corner of the knowledge that the world has thanks to technology.
