Prime Minister Edi Rama held an electoral meeting in Kukës today, where he declared with conviction that this region will count a full 1 million tourists in 2030, with the underground city being the main attraction.
The underground city of Kukës, or the refuge built decades ago by the monist regime to shelter residents in the event of an attack, is expected to become one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Albania.
This was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, also chairman of the Socialist Party, during an electoral meeting in the Kukës region.
"There is another element that we will put in the spotlight in the fourth mandate, which is the underground city here. With the underground city, we now have the opportunity to create one of the most beautiful attractions in Albania. When I said that Tropoja would become one of the tourist destinations and that many tourists would come here and live here with tourists, it is understood that I was a communist dog who should have left Tropoja an hour ago and no one believed me, while they believed that I am not and have never been a communist. Meanwhile, today Tropoja has the path to becoming a tourist destination open. With the Mountain Package, there will be new developments, I am convinced because the Mountain Package in Tropoja also solves the problem of chestnuts, according to them, which are properties with customary heritage. Meanwhile, I am telling you today that the potential of Kukës, if we together manage to combine to create the attraction by placing the underground city at the center as a magnet for which we are preparing an international competition to understand "exactly how it will be developed and the "Tourism" hotel will also be included in the international competition ," Rama said.
While emphasizing the Mountains Package, there was also a call for "London chicks."
"After the elections, we will start implementing the Mountain Package, which is available to those who want to invest in ancestral lands, or in lands where they agree with the owners for tourism, agrotourism, and of course for livestock, agroprocessing, agribusiness, by taking a few simple steps. First, the land that is de facto, that is, the de facto owner, but who does not appear on the papers, goes to the municipality and files a request to have this land recognized as the land of his ancestors. The municipality forwards it to the Municipal Council and posts it for 30 days. The municipality verifies it. When the 30 days are up and the people are found to be uncontested, the Municipal Council gives the decision that they can make an investment in their land. With that decision, they make a project and at the Ministry of Economy they make a contract and they buy the land for 1 Euro, they invest it. When the investment is finished, they get permission to register it in the mortgage as their property. If it happens that after they have "They made the investment and registered it in the mortgage and someone comes out and says, 'Wait, it's me.' This person who is complaining has no way of interfering with what they have done, but the state takes it upon itself to judge and compensate them somewhere else. I know that even the guys in London are listening to us. For the first 500 applications, you won't pay anything for 10 years. They will simply make the investment and for 10 years they won't have any taxes to pay," the prime minister said.
