During the Congress of European People's Parties held in Valencia, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, met with the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku.

At the center of the discussions were the political challenges facing Kosovo and Albania in two different phases of the electoral processes, Kosovo in the post-election period and Albania on the eve of the elections.

Berisha and Abdixhiku shared analyses of recent political developments in their countries, emphasizing the need for a coordinated approach and mutual support in addressing democratic challenges, as well as strengthening representative and democratic institutions.

In conclusion, the necessity for closer cooperation between LDK and DP was emphasized, not only within the framework of shared ideological affiliation and membership in the family of European People's Parties, but also because of the historical and national responsibility they bear.

They pledged to deepen coordination for common political interests, to strengthen democratic values, and to face together the challenges that await the two countries and the entire Albanian nation.
