The publication of the salaries of 630 thousand Albanians has prompted the Albanian authorities to launch controls on the property of high-income citizens on the basis of lifestyle.

Deputy Minister of Finance Vasilika Vjero said that the unit has started working with 32 individuals employed in the construction sector, trade and insurance market. During their interview, Vjero says that the declaration of salary over the years has been taken as a basis, writes RTSH.

Vjero acknowledges that controlling individuals' wealth based on lifestyle is a complex process and will take time, but she adds that the authorities have received proper assistance from the International Monetary Fund.

The work of the anti-informality unit started right after the leak of data on the salaries of 630 thousand Albanians, the publication of which raised doubts in the responsible authorities on their real statement. In the magnifying glass of the unit will pass this year 100 individuals with high incomes.
