Protest before Prime Minister, migrant vote demanded

A group of citizens rallied in front of the Prime Minister to demand the right to vote for migrants.

Citizens called on the political class to provide immigrants with the right to vote since the next election.

"Back home, you didn't let me live, at least let me contribute," it said among the protesters' banners.

The right to vote for migrants is agreed under the June 5, 2020 agreement between the SP and the PD. Both sides publicly express pro, but neither has pushed forward this process, putting out technical issues as obstacles.

To enable the right of immigrants to vote, the government undertook an initiative requiring them to declare the address online. But the initiative was left in half and it is currently unknown how many Albanian immigrants have declared addresses in the countries where they live and work.
