Protest/ Socialist MP: If you have a better alternative, go to the ballot box!
Protest

Socialist Party MP Admir Kadeli has come up with a reaction and invitation to all those citizens who, for 22 days now, have been demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, but also of the old political class, including Sali Berisha.

Through a post on social media, Kadeli has chosen to address critics of the government with a clear message: anyone who believes there is a better alternative for Albania should prove it through democratic competition.

According to him, democracy offers all the space for anyone who wants to engage in politics, creating a new force, presenting a concrete program and seeking the support of citizens through voting.

"If someone believes that there is a better alternative for Albania, the way is open, come on, bujrum! Let him create a party. Let him present a program. Let him convince the citizens and then let's meet where the people decide: AT THE BALLOT BOX! This is democracy," he writes, while further expressing concern about what he considers a tendency to build political ambitions while damaging the interests of Albania.

In this reaction, the MP recalled the huge costs that our country paid during the years of transition, when political clashes brought serious consequences for the economy, employment and development of the country.

Full reaction:

If someone believes that there is a better alternative for Albania, the way is open, go ahead!

Let him create a party. Let him present a program. Let him convince the citizens and then let's meet where the people decide: AT THE BALLOT BOX!

This is democracy.

But what cannot be accepted is that political ambition is built on damaging Albania because we have seen this movie once!

In the years of transition, in the name of anger, revolution, and change, the country lost factories, plants, public property, jobs, and years of development. The politicians didn't pay the price. The citizens did!

Today we do not have the right to repeat that history with other technological means, because today buildings are no longer destroyed with levers, but trust is destroyed with disinformation. The economy and tourism are damaged with organized campaigns. Albania's image is damaged with narratives that are spread in algorithms and consumed by the world as the only truth.

Nobody wins when Albania loses.

Criticism is necessary. Protest is right. Political competition is the foundation of democracy, but Albania cannot be the cost of anyone's political battle.

Because what was built with the sweat of millions of Albanians cannot be put at risk to gain a few thousand likes, a few minutes of attention, or a few more votes.

Let's compete with ideas.

Let's tackle projects.

Let the citizens judge us.

But let's keep Albania out of this war.
