Pompeo visits Mujahideen camp in Durres: We will support the Iranian people in
Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo with Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today paid a visit to the headquarters of the People's Mujahideen Organization of Iran (MEK) in Albania, and met with Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

Expressing satisfaction with the meeting with the residents, Pompeo stated: “Today, 1000 former political prisoners of the theocratic regime are gathered here. I want to tell you, from a former Secretary of State, that America knows and respects you deeply. "Your suffering in the name of freedom reminds us of the principles for the protection of which our country was founded many years ago."

Among other things, Pompeo said: "Ebrahim Raisi, the butcher who orchestrated the 1988 massacre, is now president… Turnout was the lowest since 1979, marking a total rejection of the regime and its candidate. It was, in fact, a boycott of the regime - and the regime knows it. "He is clearly at his weakest point in decades."

We must continue to support the Iranian people in every way we can as they fight for a freer and more democratic Iran. There is so much good work that American civil society can do to advance this goal. Jobs in which your organization is actively engaged.

In the end, the Iranian people will have a secular, democratic, non-nuclear republic. I pray that this day will come soon, and with the support of Iranians living around the world - and those resisting from within the country - that day will come sooner. I am committed to this cause; "I know that you are all too," he said.

Welcoming former Secretary Pompeo at Ashraf-3, Ms. Rajavi said: "The Iranian people and the mullahs' regime have faced each other fiercely in the last 43 years. This war will continue until a free and democratically elected republic is established in Iran…. There are two important factors to the conflict in Iran today:

The state of maximum weakness of the regime and the maximum anger and dissatisfaction of the people. The result of these factors has been the advancement and expansion of organized Resistance. The West has ignored the Iranian people and its organized resistance as a crucial factor in any development involving Iran for four decades. This enabled the mullahs to be on the verge of creating a nuclear bomb. The ignorance of the Iranian people and its resistance was the missing factor, which explains why the West was taken by surprise during the 1979 Revolution that toppled the Shah.

Rajavi closed her speech by emphasizing that "we can and must liberate Iran, the Middle East and the world from the evil of nuclear mullahs."

During his stay in Tirana, Pompeo received the title "Doctor Honoris Causa" from the University of Tirana.

Pompeo, the former director of the CIA, is one of the most curved names to be a candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

In recent months, he has been involved in numerous visits within the US but also abroad.

Usually former US Secretaries of State are insured for 180 days after leaving office. But in the case of Pompeo this has been prolonged.

DASH says it pays more than $ 2 million a month to provide 24-hour security to the former Secretary of State and his top aides due to threats from Iran.
